Academic and Social Preparation Our preschool program is dedicated to preparing children aged 3 to 5 years for kindergarten by focusing on both academic and social-emotional readiness. Through a comprehensive approach, we nurture intellectual, emotional, and social development to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success. Engaging Literacy, Math, Social Studied, and Science Activities Our teachers, guided by the principles from the PA standards, create lessons that will foster critical thinking and ignite creativity. Our learners will develop literacy through a focus on phonological awareness, letter formation, and storytelling. Math and science skills are explored through hands-on activities such as counting, sorting, measuring, and conducting experiments. Preschoolers will be introduce to scientific topics such as the solar system, weather, and animal life cycles for exploration of the world, while working with their friends to share and create their own learning. They will also dive into social studies by spending time learning about our community, the people who keep it running, and how we can work together to create a better space for all of us. We truly believe that if our classrooms focus on STEAM activities we are certain to help our students be ready for a life, and love, of learning! Leadership Building One area of focus in preschool is to encourage patience, caring, sharing, and kindness as a basis for creating leaders! Our students will have opportunities to shine and practice helping one another throughout their day. By guiding children while they develop self-help skills, learn responsibility for their actions, and thinking through their decisions, our goal is to prepare children to be confident, empathetic members of their community who are prepared to lead! Daily Creative and Physical Activities Creativity in our classrooms flourish through singing, dancing, art, and story time, all aligned with learning themes. Our day provides ample opportunity for our teachers to encourage self-expression and artistic growth. BELA will soon provide structured music and gross motor classes for students to pursue these passions beyond their classroom doors. Weather permitting, outdoor play on age-appropriate playgrounds strengthens allows students to engage in gross motor skills play, building large muscle groups, ensuring children remain active and engaged. Even on those days when Mother Nature is not cooperating our students have a fantastic gymnasium space to get those wiggles out!
